You roll in the afternoon, not before dawn. The lava is still the ground under the jeep, and late light on the crater rim is the whole point — not a cold start, not black sand, not the lake.
Most people who write Nirvana Jeep Tour already know they want a 4WD on the mountain. What they do not always know is which hour they are booking. This note is for the late window: afternoon lava, then last light on the crater rim. It sits with Tour Black Lava & Sunset. It is not a second sales page. It is the field note so you can tell whether you want the day to end on the mountain before you open the tour.
The meet is Bayung Jeep Sunrise & Trekking Basecamp. Nirvana Jeep Tour rolls from there. If you are still choosing between four routes, start on Tours. If you already know you want sunset, stay here.
You start at 04.00 pm, not in the dark
The listed window is 04.00 pm to sunset, about 2–3 hours. That is not a leftover slot after a sunrise jeep. You are in an open-top 4WD with up to three guests. You take the lava while the day is still up, you hold for last light on the rim, and you come back. The listed tour covers the jeep and a licensed driver, entrance, parking, snacks (black coffee, white coffee, or tea, and bread), and documentations. Kintamani pickup and drop-off is included.
If you show up for a pre-dawn leave, you are on the wrong page. This hour does not start in the dark, and it does not stretch into a second landscape after the sky goes down.
Afternoon lava, then the sky on the rim. If you want the day to end on the mountain, this is the run.
What late light means on this jeep
On this route the crater rim is where the day closes. Nirvana Jeep Tour also runs a cold start for first light, lava that ends on black sand, and lava that opens onto Lake Batur. Those are other hours. Mixing them is how people book the wrong light.
Not sunrise, not sand, not the lake
If you want the cold start, read Leaving in the dark for black lava. If you want shoreline after the hardened flow, that is the black-sand note on Trail notes. If you want still water after the tracks, that is Lake Batur. This page only tells you what happens when you hold for late light.
The jeep, the price, and what is not guessed here
Tour Black Lava & Sunset is listed at IDR 550k per jeep, up to three guests, 2–3 hours from 04.00 pm to sunset. Kintamani pickup and drop-off is included. Ubud is listed at +IDR 550k and Denpasar at +IDR 800k on the tour page — not invented here. If you need the extra, read it there. You still need the tour page for WhatsApp and the live inclusions.

How the hour actually feels in sequence
You are not collecting viewpoints. You are staying with one clock. Meet in the afternoon. Climb onto the lava while the day is still bright. Hold the rim when the sky turns. Come back after sunset. That is the whole arc. People who want a pre-dawn start, a shoreline, or the lake should pick a different listing on Tours.
Ask from Contact if your group size, date, or pickup is the open question — not if you are still deciding between sunrise and last light. For that, read the other trail notes first.
If this is your hour, open the tour
A trail note should leave you able to say yes or no. If late light on the crater rim is the point, book Tour Black Lava & Sunset. If you wanted sunrise, sand, or the lake, go back to trail notes and pick the matching jeep. Nirvana Jeep Tour will still be the same crew at Bayung. The light will not.
